We are pleased to announce that we have created 40 new jobs in the first half of 2015. The substantial increase in staff numbers has been driven by a series of high profile contract wins across the UK including the £13 million contract to refurbish and extend the National Army Museum and the £20m refurbishment of the world-renowned Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London.
This consistent success with large contracts has also seen Gilbert-Ash expand its base in London, with the company moving to larger new premises in the centre of the city.
The jobs are across all construction disciplines including site managers, site engineers, design managers, planners and estimators.

We took the strategic decision to target projects that would allow us to make use of our expertise and experience and this activity is helping us to sustain our plans for continual growth. By specifically targeting bespoke projects in niche areas, we have won a number of high profile, multi-million pound contracts and we anticipate further wins in the coming year.”
Gilbert-Ash has recently completed the 5G Innovation Centre at the University of Surrey, which is the first facility of its kind worldwide dedicated to the Research and Development of 5G technologies. In Liverpool the company has recently finished Phase 1 of the major refurbishment of another landmark site, the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, which was constructed by Gilbert-Ash, won the most prestigious award in the architecture industry last year, the Stirling Prize, beating the Shard, the Library of Birmingham and the London Aquatics Centre.
Mr Hutchinson added: “It is in London where Gilbert-Ash has enjoyed the most success recently and the expansion of our office reflects this. Work is progressing at a rapid pace on a £20m refurbishment of the Institution of Engineering and Technology building in Savoy Place in London, with the building due for handover in October 2015. We have also recently secured a £1m contract to work on the Foreign and Commonwealth office building on King Charles Street in Whitehall. We have formed strong relationships with our partners on all of our recent projects and this has helped to create new opportunities through repeat business as we move forward with our plans for expansion.”
