New home for ‘Flash’ at the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children, Belfast

Gilbert-Ash recently donated a display case to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children – a new home for one of the hospital’s oldest residents, ‘Flash’ – the rocking horse.
Following a Weight Loss Challenge earlier this year 20 Gilbert-Ash staff raised a sum of £500 for the Children’s Haematology Oncology Unit. After a visit to the Unit, it was agreed to have the company’s Fit Out team design a display case for ‘Flash’ in the children’s ward.
This rocking horse has been with the hospital since 1997 after it was donated by the Northern Ireland Kidney Association. The horse is well loved by the children who visit the ward and the idea of the case is to help keep it intact for years to come. One of the children, Owen McKee, on the Barbour Ward recently named the horse, and now ‘Flash’ is proudly exhibited in the Children’s Ward for all to admire.
